Guildwars Community Project!
There is nothing that brings random people together more than working together on a single project. There should be something in the community that everyone can contribute to. So here is my grand idea. Hopefully it could be used as a whole or in parts. Just try to imagine if this update were real.
New Update: Guild Wars Auction House Under Construction!
A new volcanic island has emerged from the waves near the battle islands. Masons from the Stone Summit have traveled there and decided that is would be the perfect spot for a new Auction House, but they need your help. Clay Bricks are needed in the construction and they can be found at crafters or at merchants. Collect as many clay bricks as you can and give them to the stone summit foreman on this new island. The Stone summit dwarves are working round the clock to get it done. The biggest contributors will be recognized for their help. - Arenanet.
Ok, now I know this seems grand in its scope but think about how fun it would be. It doesn't have to be an Auction house, just a building that would benefit PvE players. Everytime you login to the game the progress would be updated and you could actually see the building become more complete. Titles could even be given for those who contributed the most clay bricks.
How much fun would it be to have the entire community working together to create something that would really benefit us. Also, you could just add this to a current town. A new island was just an idea. There could be NPCs hammering and carrying tools. Making it look like a real job site.

Cool idea, but it would require lots of new art content. Really cool way to show an upcoming update.

That would be like an online multi player Simcity, which would be a cool idea for a separate game. Still, something like this would be nice in GW if Anet has enough time and people to do something like this. I myself daydream about a separate multi-outpost area that is just for socializing where you can get another storage or a closet for regular non-armor clothing. An environment that would be like an online multiplayer Sims. And places where there's always mini games, all the holiday festivals can be held there, auction houses, buletin boards, want ads, etc. Maybe a restaurant where gamers can donate weapons to display for fame, like a Hardrock Cafe that displays guitars. And weapons can start keeping track of accomplishments, like being used in Hall of Heros a number of times.

Indeed, the PvE community should have to go through small events like this to earn some of the bigger new features...not everything, but big things...

Great idea, but kind of straying from the main concept/idea of GW.

Whoops,
I forgot that stone summit are the bad guys. I just meant all the happy dwarves. If you really think about it, this project wouldn't be that hard to undertake for the developers. The would definitely have to make it available to the boat of all the chapters. Is there enough room near the temple of balthazar for another town. Or perhaps they could open those doors at the top of the steps. I will try to come up with some more ideas.

i like, i like.
maybe as far as titles go: 1,000 bricks=carpenter or something lame.
5,000=construction worker, lol. 10,000= architect.
i realize the first two titles are retarded but its the first thing that came to mind.

True. It would be something on the side and have nothing to do with the main story or progressing through the game itself. Not sure if it would take off, they can try. Of course people may not want to bother because they may think any time spent in there could be spent on getting gold and other things. Still, I'd like to see something like this as a break from the battling and farming.

I like this idea. Pretty original and gets people involved. Any good idea that gets people more immersed with the gaming world and able to change their environment is a big plus.

The good dwarves are the dedlimor dwarves, and I think that would be quite a good idea
If there was some titles should be:
1000 clay bricks:sand castle builder
5000:architect(i dont think it should be the max title)
8000:master architect
10000:builder of the gods

An auction where I can give my item to a NPC Swordsmith / NPC Axe maker / NPC Wands and staffs wands / NPC etc... Then I could set my buying limits / time frame. Leave the auction house and play the game. Have an E-mail sent to me or return a day or two later and see a pile of gold this would make me happy
